On December 21, 2008 during an unexpected snowfall, Matt got down on one knee and proposed to Melodie.
The initial plan was to have a large (huge) local wedding. After a life-changing trip to the Philippines, the slate was wiped clean and they started on a new idea: a small, intimate destination wedding.
Melodie:
It started with a dream of having my 18th birthday at the Plaza of Nations. My dream then turned into a wedding twice as big as my cotillion. Despite having a smaller destination wedding, I know it will be the new best day of my life. I now know that the location, time, and size doesn’t matter as long as you have the right person by your side. I found the best partner in Matt as he encourages me to be a stronger, open-minded person. Thanks to my Mom, Dad and brother for supporting this girl’s dream every step of the way.
Matt:
Growing up, marriage was something I would do “when I get older”. Now that I’m older, I’m lucky to find myself with Melodie. We’ve spent the past few years figuring out how to be supportive, understand each other and compromise. Along with establishing our relationship, Mel has shown incredible strength and patience while giving me the freedom to grow my company. What better way to celebrate us than with a beach party with all our friends and family?
